You suspect your home is victim to mold growth, and know you it is time to call for a professional inspection. Before you call, you may be asking yourself, “What exactly is involved with mold testing?” Here are the answers to some common questions about the mold inspection process, and what you can expect from the professionals at Purely Green Environmental.
How are samples collected?
Mold testing can use either air or surface samples for collection. A common air test used is referred to as a spore trap. Indoor air samples collected are measured against a baseline outdoor air sample in order to properly assess your homes air quality. Surface samples are collected by either swabs or non-viable biotape on surfaces and materials approved by our professional expertise to be sent out for analyzation.
Who are the samples analyzed by?
Once the air or surface samples are collected, they are then sent to an environmental laboratory to be analyzed by an environmental microbiologist. These laboratories are accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). Once effectively analyzed, the results are then sent to Purely Green Environmental in order to proceed with appropriate remediation recommendations.
How do I pick a remediation company?
Since Purely Green Environmental does not offer remediation services, we can offer an unbiased recommendation for mold remediation and help you choose the most appropriate services and company. We provide you with an overview of the mold inspection, to determine the least invasive and most effective mold remediation procedure. Purely Green will help you compare remediation quotes in order to choose the best suited company for the task at hand.
What happens after mold remediation?
Once a company is chosen and remediation has been completed, a professional from Purely Green will return to perform a post-remediation clearance test. This test will confirm or deny if the remediation service was effective in removing the mold in your home. This optional service is highly recommended, as it can save you precious time and money from additional repairs, inspections, and remediation services down the road.
